About

My path to UX design was circuitous. An Apparel Design graduate of the University of Minnesota, I have designed corsetry in London, intimates for Juicy Couture and after winning Project OR (the Outdoor Industry’s equivalent of Project Runway), spent three years designing men's sportswear at Cabela’s. Despite my love of apparel design, a deep desire to improve the lives of others, steeped with a family background in medicine, led me back to the University of Minnesota. There while completing pre-med studies, I discovered the Medical Device Innovation program which allowed me to combine my design skills, medical interests and commitment to make life better for others; I completed my Master’s in 2017. I was subsequently the first apparel designer selected for the University of Minnesota’s Earl E. Bakken Medical Devices Center Innovation Fellowship Program. While completing my fellowship, I realized the user and their needs and experiences were my favorite aspects of design in healthcare. With that, I joined Prime Digital Academy and am in the midst of formal UX training. I’m set to graduate in August 2019 and will be looking for a full-time UX role in the Twin Cities.

I believe the best design is that which is seamlessly incorporated into daily life. I’m most interested in anything that has the potential to improve health and enhance quality of life while disrupting the unsustainable escalation of health care costs.

In my free time I like to stay active. A connoisseur of multiple sports, I particularly enjoy hockey, strength training and biking. I also enjoy remodeling and flipping houses, especially demo day. Along with my husband and labradoodle Murphy (an aspiring therapy dog), we endeavor to visit every dog-friendly venue in the Twin Cities.
